OUR MISSION

To provide life-changing experiences
to children with physical disabilities.

THE FOUNDATION

The Stephen J Wampler Foundation was incorporated in October 2001, becoming a fully recognized tax-exempt non-profit 501(c) 3 organization in March of 2002 (Tax ID number #80-0470847). Our inclusive outdoor adventures programs started in August 2004 when we welcomed our first 24 campers. The organization has grown over the past 20+ years, and we have sponsored over 1250 children.

Camp Wamp, a camp for kids with physical disabilities, is located near North Lake Tahoe in the High Sierras. Here, campers experience an unforgettable week in the great outdoors. They sleep under the stars, embracing the magic of the wilderness. Camp Wamp instills in these children a newfound independence, drive, optimism, and a spirit of adventure. Many campers leave proclaiming it the “Best Week Ever”!.

CAMP WAMP

Camp Wamp offers one-week camp sessions for campers of all ages with physical disabilities. Campers enjoy a variety of incclusive outdoor adventures including fishing, canoeing, singing around the camp fire, hiking, making new friends, participating in survival challenges, and much more. Recognized as a premier camping experience for persons living with physical disabilities, our exciting programs are appreciated by both parents and campers
